Additional Technical Information:
-
Maximum size of any
Georgian Square grille is 1600mm x 900mm
-
Georgian brass grilles are
manufactured symmetrically in both horizontal and
vertical planes (Height and Width). Grilles will
therefore match if paired (when manufactured on the same
order).
-
Your decorative grille
will be manufactured to the size requested. We do not
add an additional fixing border which you will need to
include in your dimensions. (approx. 15 to 20mm all
around in a typical application).
-
To allow flush fixing
behind an aperture, rosettes are replaced by rivets
within approx. 15 to 20mm of the grille edge but this
will depend on diamond size and grille dimension.
(Grilles are typically installed with a small screw and
washer though the backing mesh at the rear edge, at
approx. 40mm intervals. There is no need to rebate the
grille behind the aperture unless the rear will be
visible and you wish to provide a neater finish. Using
wooden beading around the edge is an option often chosen
in this situation. You may however, fit how you wish. No
fixings, beading or framing is supplied).
-
The depth of this grille
at the edge, is approx. 5mm, depending on your style
choices. (3mm square brass rod
+
mesh backing at 0.7mm or
1mm (fine/large)
+
a possible rivet head with it's turned down pin at the
rear. Total = approx. 5mm). At the point of a rosette,
depth is approx. 6mm.
-
Please note that this
style of grille has one good face. The rear of the
grille contains pins from your chosen rosette/rivet
which secure the lattice construction and if specified,
hold the backing mesh in place. Rosette/rivet pins by
design have points which are turned down flush to the
rear.
(Not all pins penetrate the mesh which is due to the
stages required in the build up of the product and is
normal)
-
Grilles are made to a
tolerance of + /- 2mm per supplied dimension.

Additional Helpful Information: The biggest factor that affects pricing for this product is square size. The smaller the square, the more brass and labour is involved in manufacture. Prices can therefore vary considerably upon this choice. The second biggest factor that affects pricing for this product is adding a plating or treatment finish to the brass. This will also increase delivery timescales. Large and Fine weave backing mesh are equally priced. Rosette designs are equally priced. Rivets are less expensive. Alternate rosettes are less expensive than rosettes on every crossing.
Please note that this style of grille has one good face. The rear of the grille contains pins from your chosen rosette/rivet which secure the lattice construction and if specified, hold the backing mesh in place. Rosette/rivet pins by design have points which are turned down flush to the rear.
